Hospital admissions for coronavirus patients have more than halved in the UK since peaking in April, the head of the NHS has said. Around 9,000 people a day are now being treated for Covid-19 in hospitals, down from 19,000 a few weeks ago, chief executive of NHS England Sir Simon Stevens wrote in a piece for the Daily Mail.
