Two South African Women were arrested in the South Indian Airport of Chennai on Friday (4 June) after narcotics were found in their luggage.
Chennai Airport customs tweeted the discovery @ChennaiCustoms with pictures exhibiting the seized contraband.
According to the Customs official 9.87 kgs of heroin was concealed in their stroller bags.
The seized narcotics are estimated to have a street value of 10 million US dollars.
The arrested duo arrived from Johannesburg via Doha on Flight number QR 528.
Officials on condition of anonymity told The African Gazette the passengers ‘’ might have taken advantage of the lean traffic and restricted flight operation due to the Covid-19
