Popular Nollywood actress Bose Adewoyin, 60, known as ‘Madam Tinubu’ in the film ‘EFYNROYE TINBU’ died on Tuesday 23rd June.
She shot to fame with acclaimed performances as ‘Madam Tinubu’ and ‘Mama Onimama’ and became a household name in Nigeria.
In accordance with Islamic tradition, she was laid to rest the same day.
According to artist and theatre personality Mufu Onifade, she “was a quintessential actress, dancer, and costumier”
She played Madam Tinubu in the play ‘Efunroye Tinubu’ which was subsequently adapted for Television and became a big hit in 1989/90.
“Adewoyin’s contribution to the development of theatre in Nigeria and her work in costume designing was immense,” said Onifade in his tribute.
Bose Adewoyin was a staff at the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture till she breathed her last and represented Nigeria internationally in the arts and culture field.
She was fondly called ‘Aunty Bose’ by her fans.
