French Appeal Court rejected Probe Against Kagame’s Allies over the death of President Habyarimana.

A Paris court rejects new inquiry into the death of president Habyarimana that sparked the Rwandan genocide in April 1994.

The lawyer of civil parties, Me Philippe Meilhac told the African Gazette that they have appealed the decision to France’s supreme court.

The case has poisoned relations between Rwanda and France when Judge Jean-Louis Bruguière inducted nine members and former members of incumbent President for the shooting down of the Falcon-50 that was carrying President Habyarimana and Burundian President Cyprien Ntaryamira.

That incident is believed to have triggered the 1994 Rwandan genocide which claimed the lives of some 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus in a space of 100 days.

French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to improve diplomatic relations between the two countries and President Kagame has shown signs of goodwill.

French troops have been accused of supporting the government that failed to stop the killings in 1994.

They denied the accusations.
