Kigali, Rwanda – The European Business Chamber in Rwanda (EBCR) hosted its first-ever Advocacy Summit on April 5th, 2023, bringing together leaders and stakeholders from various sectors to discuss the theme “Together for an Inclusive Business Environment.”
The summit aimed to create a platform for dialogue on key issues affecting the business environment in Rwanda and how stakeholders can collaborate to promote inclusivity and sustainability.
The event was attended by high-profile figures, including the Head of the European Union Delegation to Rwanda, and representatives from the private sector and civil society.
“The reason why we supported the creation of EBCR is that they proved to be a very effective platform to coordinate with key stakeholders in Rwanda, one of the most attractive countries to do business in,” said the European Union to Rwanda Ambassador Belen Calvo Uyarra.
During the summit, participants discussed various topics, including digital transformation, access to finance, gender equality, and sustainable development.
In his opening remarks, the EBCR board Chairman Mr. Giovanni Davite Giovanni highlighted the importance of collaboration in creating a conducive business environment for all. “The EBCR welcomes European investors in Rwanda, a land of opportunity and a conducive business environment. We are here to make Rwanda a more successful country,” he said.
The summit concluded with a call to action for stakeholders to create an inclusive business environment that promotes sustainable economic growth in Rwanda.
