Reports from Israel suggest that talks are underway between Israel and Congo for the Central African Republic to welcome Palestinians who will be relocated from Gaza after the war.
Israeli local newspapers, including Zman Yisrael, a partner of the daily newspaper Times of Israel, have reported that Congo is ready to welcome migrants from Gaza.
According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, Israeli Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel, a member of the Likud party, has declared that a plan for ‘humanitarian migration’ is being considered.
“Voluntary migration is the best and most realistic program for the day after the fighting ends,” she told Zman Yisrael on Tuesday.
The UK Telegraph newspaper has also reported that Danny Danon, a member of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), claimed that ‘the world is already discussing the possibilities of voluntary immigration.’
The international community, including the United States and France, has rejected the possibility of expelling Palestinians from Gaza.
The French Foreign Ministry has called on Israel ‘to refrain from such provocative declarations, which are irresponsible and fuel tensions.’
The US State Department spokesman, Matthew Miller, said: ‘Gaza is Palestinian land and will remain Palestinian land, without Hamas control and terrorism.'”
